MOTHER'S DAY TOURNAMENT 2011

Oh… Moms, what would we do without you…?


Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Global Concepts and QueensKnight Scholastic Chess Moms who go out of their way every month and spend half the day watching the children play Chess. We couldn’t do it without you ladies…THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

As for the tournament we had three new winners for each section. 31 Chess players came to show their love for their MOMS and the game of CHESS.

In the Under 1400 section we had Mason Coleman taking the win, his second time since his win in the Hispanic Tournament of 2009, welcome back. Here is how this section finished up:

3. JOHN BLUM (3.0PTS)
4. SAMUEL SANTORA (3.0PTS)
5. JACOB MELOON (2.5PTS)

Another first time winner in the Under 700 group was Roman Castle. His mom Mrs. Castle took the triple crown this tournament with her sons portrait, Best Chess mom Mug and her sons’ first Championship. Happy Mother’s Day…and this section finished like this:

Finally our new and up and comers in the Unrated Section had a first time winner in Kevin Link. The results in this section were:
