2011 Fall Festival Results

This past Saturday QueensKnight Scholastic Chess Club hosted there 2011 Fall Chess Festival at Global Concepts Charter School. The tournament was a great success drawing more than 40 chess players from different schools. Also for the first time we added an under 1600 section which attracted some players to test their skills with the adults and parents. This new section drew 10 chess players, the under 1400 had 10, the U700 attracted 13, while the unrated section hosted 9 young enthusiasts.

Mr. Cirillo would like to give a HUGE THANKS to Mr. Robert Simpson and Mrs. Santora who made the U1600 section all possible. They attracted big chess names from our community, like Dr. Mieth, Mr. Jocko, and Mr. Bahl not to mention Mr. Simpson himself who can play a mean game of chess. A Big Thanks to many others who made this tournament possible; Mr. Doyle, who dedicates his time and energy teaching our kids how to play, Mr. Blum, Mr. Acker, Mr. Klin, and Mr. Kalesse and Mr. Bowers for bringing Timon Bishop players. May I not forget all the other wonderful people who made this all posible, THANK YOU ALL.
